John Wallace read music at King's College, Cambridge, before studying at The Royal Academy of Music and York University. As a performer, he was principal trumpet of the Philharmonia Orchestra for nearly twenty years and has premiered many new works as a soloist and with his pioneering brass grouü, The Wallace Collection. John has an extensive list of recordings to his name and was awarded the O.B.E. in 1995. He is currently Principal of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Ian Denley was head of woodwind for Humberside Country's Education Authority from 1991 to 1995, and is visiting tutor at Hull University. He was appointed an ABRSM examiner in 1986.
