When the idea of these Four Chorales came to me I immediately thought of J S Bach as the greatest chorale writer. Many composers have used the B A C H nomenclature notation as a starting point for writing. So this, in German, would be Bb A C.B natural representing H.

I used this to form the key centre of the Chorales as opposed to a musical starting point.
